Push-Back Rack

Dense Sorage for LIFO Pallet Handling

Designed for high-volume inventory, push-back rack uses nested carts and inclined rails to store pallets multiple deep. It combines deep-lane storage with gravity-assisted pallet movement to improve space utilization and simplify daily handling.

Push-Back Rack

WHAT IS Push-Back Rack?
Push Back Racking is a dynamic storage solution designed to increase storage capacity while reducing the number of required aisles. It consists of rack structures, inclined rails and nested carts , allowing multiple pallets to be stored in depth within the same storage lane.
This solution is ideal for warehouses handling multiple pallets of the same product and generally follows the LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) principle. Storage depth, structural dimensions, load capacity and cart configuration can be tailored to suit available space, product characteristics and operational requirements.

ADVANTAGES OF
Push-Back Rack

01

Higher Storage Capacity
Multiple pallets can be stored in depth within each lane, allowing more inventory to be accommodated while reducing the number of required aisles.

02

Fast Loading and Retrieval
Pallets are handled from the aisle face, while the inclined cart or roller system moves stored units automatically, helping improve operating efficiency.

03

No Forklift Entry Required
Forklifts remain outside the rack structure during loading and unloading, reducing travel inside storage lanes and lowering the risk of rack impact.

04

Efficient LIFO Operation
The system typically follows LIFO (Last‑In, First‑Out) inventory flow, making it suitable for products with multiple pallets of the same SKU.

05

Better Space Utilization
Deep storage lanes make effective use of warehouse depth and floor area, providing a practical solution where space is limited.

06

Flexible Lane Configuration
Storage depth, cart quantity, rack dimensions and load capacity can be customized according to pallet specifications, inventory volume and handling requirements.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our Push-Back Rack.
Push Back Rack is a high-density pallet storage system that stores multiple pallets deep on inclined rails or carts. When the front pallet is removed, the pallets behind automatically move forward to the picking position.
Push Back Rack provides high storage density while allowing all pallets in each lane to be loaded and retrieved from the same aisle. It reduces aisle requirements and improves warehouse space utilization.
The storage depth can be customized according to pallet size, warehouse layout and storage requirements. Push Back systems are commonly designed for several pallets deep in each lane to increase storage capacity.
Pallets are loaded from the front of the rack. Each new pallet pushes the previous pallets backward along the inclined rails or carts. During unloading, the remaining pallets move forward automatically by gravity.
Push Back Rack normally operates according to the LIFO principle, meaning the last pallet loaded into a lane is the first pallet removed. It is suitable for products with multiple pallets of the same SKU.
It is suitable for medium- to high-volume palletized goods, especially when several pallets of the same product need to be stored together. It is widely used in food, beverage, manufacturing and distribution warehouses.

Standard forklifts, reach trucks and other suitable pallet-handling equipment can normally be used because the forklift does not need to enter the rack structure. Forklift specifications should still be considered when determining aisle width and rack height.

Both systems provide high-density storage, but Push Back Rack allows loading and unloading from the aisle without forklifts entering the rack lanes. This can provide faster pallet handling and reduce the risk of forklift impact on the rack structure.
